New Tax Justice Network podcasts

13 Jan

Why are ordinary people prosecuted if they don’t pay their taxes while tax officials paid by us seem to cosy up to companies like Vodafone and Goldman Sachs? How did the UK and the US become two of the world’s largest hubs for tax evasion and avoidance? What’s the shadow banking system and how does it affect me? Who are the winners and who are the losers? And can we do anything about it?

Now you can hear about all that and more. Radio producer Naomi Fowler has teamed up with the Tax Justice Network to produce the Taxcast which will be launched at the end of January 2012.

What’s the Taxcast?

It’s an entertaining and informative 15 minute monthly podcast with the latest news, research and analysis of events in tax evasion, tax avoidance and the shadow banking system. It aims to promote understanding and engagement with one of the most important ethical and economic issues of our times. It features headlines, analysis with economist Richard Murphy of Tax Research UK and a documentary.

How do I listen to it?

If you want to listen to the Taxcast on your mobile, computer, mp3 player, etc you can download it each month from www.tackletaxhavens.com from the end of January 2012.

Happy listening!
